aoe2rms.com (“we”, “us”) runs a free fan-made Random Map Scripter for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. This page explains what data we handle. We keep it minimal. Age of Empires is a trademark of Microsoft; this tool is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft or Xbox Game Studios.

What we collect

• Nothing to use the scripter. Choosing maps and generating a .rms happens entirely in your browser — those choices are never sent to us.
• If you sign in with Google (needed only to post feedback, vote, or submit a map): we receive your Google display name, email address, and a user ID via Firebase Authentication, and store them with anything you post so we can show your name and limit abuse.
• Content you submit (feedback posts, votes, map submissions) is stored in our database (Google Firebase / Firestore).
• Local storage on your device: your saved map presets and which feedback items you voted on are stored in your browser only — they never leave your device.

Cookies & advertising

We show ads via Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

Third-party services

• Google Firebase — Hosting, Authentication, and the Firestore database that stores accounts and feedback.

• Buy Me a Coffee and Revolut — optional donation links; if you use them, their own privacy policies apply.

How we use your data

Only to run the feedback board and map-sharing features, show your name on your own posts, prevent spam/abuse, and improve the tool. We do not sell your data.

Data retention & your rights

You can ask us to view or delete the data tied to your account (feedback and submissions) at any time — just contact us. Depending on your location you may have rights under the GDPR or similar laws.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 (16 in the EEA) and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
